Not all that disappointed! Tl;dr is I completed 3 of the 6 things I set out to do, and realistically did 100% of what I thought I was going to manage to do.
The Land Rover’s diffs and transfer case got new fluid on Sunday. The fluids looked pretty good, though the rear diff had more “wear paste” on the plug than I would have liked. Still, not bad.
Other stuff was covered in my mid-weekend update, below, but I managed to get the motorized bike back together and working again, plus the Saab is on the road again too.

The Alfa didn’t get any love aside from getting moved, as anticipated . I could lie to you and say that I checked the oil pressure switch... but I didn’t. I didn’t even get it into the garage yet. It is still in the courtyard... though it looks damn fine there so I may leave it for a bit.
I did start a first time play of Chrono Trigger. Being one of “ THE ” J-RPGs, I figured I’d give it a shot. Despite my claim to be a game, I was never hooked by Earthbound or Final Fantasy 3/6 . I almost finished Secret of Evermore when I was a kid , but lost interest after I missed accessing an area and was permanently cut off.
So far I’m impressed with Chrono Trigger’s graphics, music, and gameplay but the story isn’t doing it for me. Time will tell (HA!) if I pick it back up after this weekend or while I am out of town next week.

Which version of Chrono Trigger are you playing? I played the Playstation version (emulated) years ago, but saw the PC version on sale recently and was thinking about giving it another shot. There were lots of complaints about the PC version’s graphics that seemed a bit weird to me (they looked str ictly better from my point of view), but they did make some other changes post-launch that looked like they improved on what they had shipped originally.

I went with the SNES version. I hear the DS version is good, but I’ve always had good luck with SNES emulation so... here we are.

Certainly the purist’s choice. I think the PSX version I played is supposed to be largely the same, but with the addition of an anime-style intro, and I think some cutscenes:
Back when I tried it, the PlayStation emulators did have a problem with an effect Square used for scenes with burning buildings (small issues with Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, but a much bigger problem for the burning village at the start of Xenogears), but hopefully in the intervening years and with the enhanced CPU power, they’ve worked that out.

Haha not my lift. Friend owns a local Volvo shop and I begged a favor.

Oh man I want a lift so bad, hence the shop quest . This one is a friend’s, so OK for little stuff, but I try to keep my requests un-ambitious and few.

Chrono Trigger is excellent. Music is very iconic. My personal favorites are FF7-8-9 and Star Ocean Second Story. Once you start playing the auto project goes on the back burner. Great for the winter time.

Loved 7 and, but never could get myself to finish 8 (despite getting to the final area), 9, 10 (despite same), or X2.
No worries on the projects, I don’t really do one thing for very long so it is usually hour of working on cars, hour of video games, hour of something else, repeat. Seems like something I should medicate for...
